It's a program in the ecu that holds the engine speed at a certain rpm for a good launch. it crackels like that because it works like a rev limiter cutting out? either fuel or ignition. if you cut out the ignition (spark) the fuel still goes through the engine and when it gets to the end of the exahust pipes it mixes and burns which creates those pops and flames

I parked my car for the winter which in an amercian car a crown vic and bought a honda for a winter car Ive driven? the ford alot more then I did the honda and I've had to do alot more maintence to the honda then the ford. Even in the winter id start the ford and let it warm up and it would start quicker then the honda. But I still loved driving the honda just needed abit more maintence then again it was a 92 lol.
